Abstract
This paper addresses synthesis of strictly positive real ℋ 2 controllers via LMI optimization. To improve the existing result of an LMI-based technique, in which a common LMI solution is sought for two design criteria of strict positive realness and ℋ 2 performance, we propose an iterative procedure to solve the problem with uncommon LMI solutions. Through an illustrated example, the ℋ2 performance is found to be improved
