Abstract :
For CPUs and SoCs (System on Chip) of recent years, their numbers of cores keep growing, and their designs become more and more complicated. It is desirable to model and simulate them easier, but existing simulators are usually big, complicated, hard to understand and even harder to modify. Plenty of efforts of CPU architecture researchers are spent on understanding the simulators rather than implementing any innovative improvements to the architectures.
