Abstract :
In this paper, particle swarm optimization (PSO) based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for PV system is presented which is interrelated with other control schemes such as synchronization with grid and current control. All these schemes for utility-scale photovoltaic system are realized in a single-stage for the high efficiency and simple power converter topology. The MPP changes with variation in solar irradiation and temperature. The conventional methods like hill climbing (HC) and incremental conductance (INC) are less efficient in these conditions. The proposed method is suitable to all conditions with reduced steady state fluctuations. The overall system is simulated in PSCAD and the effectiveness of proposed method is tested on various conditions.
