Abstract :
By analysing the key factors affecting the safety of the railway, this study aims to construct an information system to monitor safety performances of China National Railway networks. For each type of asset, there is a monitoring system. To integrate individual system information into a common information platform, it is proposed to use advanced computer network and information processing technology to build Chinese Railway Assets Safety Dynamic Monitoring Information System. The assets monitoring information system combines data collection, risk assessment, equipment conditions and routine maintenance into an integrated information management system. If an abnormal state of a device detected, related data and information will be processed, distributed, and fed into a centralised alarm system. This system will effectively resolve the railway network safety monitoring with multi-points and lengths, assets scattered around, complex monitoring equipment, difficulty in information collection problems to support decision making process. The implementations of this system provide technical methods of supporting safety-related traffic controls, asset maintenance, and emergency response in real time to protect the safety of the railways.
