Abstract :
The use of spatial multiplexing, together with efficient detection algorithms such as V-BLAST, provides a feasible approach to exploiting the high potential capacity of spatial diversity systems in rich scattering environments. A new implementation of the V-BLAST algorithm is presented herein which takes advantage of previous channel estimates when updating the detection parameters. The adaptive technique is based on a method to update the ing vectors accurately and rapidly when the symbol detection order changes, thus maintaining error performance as the channel gains vary. The performance of the algorithm is demonstrated through examples which demonstrate its convergence.
