Abstract :
The paper designs a platform which is used for observing signaling messages. The platform can be applied in many fields, such as cellphone security, signaling teaching, malicious attack and so on. In this paper, we mainly introduce its effects in signaling teaching. A distributed GSM teaching platform is designed, which is used for helping students to study GSM Um interface protocols better. Cooperating with a client, students can clearly observe the signaling interaction process of Um interface between a mobile and GSM cellular networks and check the original and the parsed data. Below, the distributed structure of the platform are detailed introduced, and then implementations are introduced from three parts including the client, the server and the base station. Finally, the effectiveness of the platform is demonstrated through an operation instance, verifying the effectiveness of the platform.
