Abstract :
Optical fiber communication system is the major part of modern long distance communication, the Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) is regarded as the key element limiting the capacity and distance of high speed optical transmission. In this paper, we use an approximately method for comparing the tolerance between OFDM and FBMC, we find that FBMC can compensate the first-order PMD adaptively. Through analysis and numerical simulation, we have concluded that FBMC can behave better under the influence of first-order PMD.
