Abstract
This paper proposes an extended general repair model for repairable systems. The new model incorporates virtual age concept and repair effectiveness parameters to reflect the effect of repairs. Unlike the current general repair models which assume a constant level of the repair effectiveness, the new model assumes that the repair effectiveness depends on the degree of repair. Therefore, some important engineering problems can be solved by a more practical and realistic approach.
