  • Abstract
    Network dependability management is always a critical issue for all the network providers around the world. How to guarantee the dependability of communication networks is still not well solved by former researchers. In this paper, we first introduce the basic concept of communication network dependability verification. In order to evaluate the validity of the network dependability measurement method, a simulating test approach is proposed with well-designed framework and procedure. We also utilize a practical case of backbone network for testing the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed simulating test method. Simulation results demonstrate that the simulating test for communication network dependability can obtain the network dependability parameters successfully and make comparison between measurements and the requirements of network provider. Through reasonable analysis and design, proper solutions can be promoted to find and solve the problem related to network dependability.
