Abstract :
Presents a control strategy for traction drive continuously variable transmissions (CVT) ratio control. The control system uses feedback on both the roller tilt angle and roller axial movement to obtain quick ratio response and stability. A Matlab/Simulink model is developed to implement the formulation on the CVT plant and the control system. Simulation results obtained by the model on CVT ratio and torque responses are also included in the paper
