  • Abstract
    Multilayer, fine lines and spaces feature flexible printed circuits (FPC), so it is difficult to correctly detect and classify the faults in FPC. In this paper, an approach combining virtual instrument with rough set theory (RST) for FPC on-line fault diagnosis is introduced. The virtual instrument is adopted to detect fine lines and spaces and gather the largest amount of fault informations, while RST is used to identify various faults of FPC. A certain type of FPC is used for demonstration, and the results show that the proposed approach performs good fault diagnosis capabilities
