Abstract :
In system reliability analysis component importance plays major role for prioritizing the components in the system to improve the reliability, risk and maintenance planning. Maintenance of all the risky equipments is necessary to ensure successful operation of any system. Different importance measures are available to compute the rank of the component for improving the system reliability and maintenance planning. In this paper a set of seven existing importance measures and a non parametric ranking tool i.e Copeland Score (CS) method have been extended to analyze reliability improvement and component maintenance priority of the system. Also buck converter system effectiveness with CS method in comparison to the different existing measures has been advanced to rank the components of buck converter and use the ranking for prioritizing reliability improvement and maintenance of components of the system. It is observed that the CS method based ranking results better guidance for improving system reliability and planning activity of different components of the buck converter maintenance.
