Abstract :
Evolvingly tighter requirements on the quality of electric energy supply services for industrial consumers claim a better knowledge of the perturbations inflicted in the supply network by nonlinear consumers under normal operation conditions. A special interest goes to the assessment of the harmonic-type of perturbations induced by these consumers. This paper deals with a general outline of the analysis methods for the harmonic impedances, a relevant means for the characterization of nonlinear consumers, and it presents results obtained from field measurements and from harmonic impedances synthesis methods on various typical nonlinear industrial loads such as electric arc furnaces, induction furnaces and ASD
