Abstract
We present a simple technique for the realization of a piezoplastic plane focusing immersion transducer, based on the Soret´s plane model. The experiments achieved with this transducer show a rather radially thin focal spot (1 mm at 6 MHz, -6 dB, 4 rings), and a focal distance depending linearly on frequency, The field measurements are in good agreement with the theoretical calculations, which can therefore be used to investigate the influence of the number of rings on the depth of focus
