Abstract
Two types of military plan are characterised; off-load plans (that concern the off-load of men and equipment during amphibious operations) and SSGW plans (plans for attack with surface-to-surface guided weapons). The selection of these types of plan was largely determined by pragmatic considerations, such as access to users. Current practice views of their quality are presented. Then, some general knowledge of the domain of military plans is outlined and alternative views of these plans are proposed. Finally, the current practice and alternative views of plan quality are compared and contrasted
