  • Abstract
    Ceramic products are often decorated with patterns during the process of manufacturing in order to highlight their qualities. Using information technology to simulate ceramic pattern design is a new means of inheriting, understanding and creating cultures. Based on the study of the thinking process of ceramic pattern design by analyzing and summarizing a large number of ceramic patterns, a way of knowledge expression is proposed, an inference engine as well is designed and implemented in the paper. With the aid of Visual C++ and SQL Server, a ceramic pattern intelligent design system is developed. Until now, we have worked out some diversified ceramic patterns through the use of the system.
