Abstract :
Application of ultrasonic reflection tomography (URT) to nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of materials is possible for flaw imagery: since flaws generally result in weak and localized signals, the inverse Born approximation, the basis of classical URT, can be used. It simply needs the knowledge of the Green function of the medium without flaws. This is calculated for stratified media. Application to NDE of coated plates is shown on a dedicated system
