Abstract :
This paper presents the PSO optimized fuzzy logic power system stabilizer (FPSS) to enhance the dynamic stability of the entire power system using PHILLIPS HEFFRON MODEL for single machine infinite bus (SMIB) system. Various input and output parameters of the fuzzy logic controller are optimized using the Particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique to achieve better results and enhanced stability. Out of the various choices for input to the fuzzy logic controller, the angular speed deviation Aio and acceleration Δώ are taken as the input to fuzzy logic controller. Moreover the behavior of the conventional controller, fuzzy logic controller and PSO optimized FPSS is compared for various parameters.
