Abstract :
In this paper a photovoltaic powered Z-source inverter system with a R-L load is considered. The photovoltaic cell model is developed in MATLAB and it is considered at different irradiation levels and temperature. The mathematical model of cell used for simulation study is single diode model. Maximum power point tracking is implemented using perturb and observe method. This paper focuses on applicability of double carrier PWM technique and analyzes the comparison between the performance of simple boost control and double carrier control. Simulations and analysis are performed to advocate the double carrier control scheme.
