Abstract
This paper investigates the multiple access interference (MAI) of multi-rate quasi-synchronous code division multiple access (QS-CDMA) system, together with the bit error rate (BER) performance of multi-rate QS-CDMA system employing orthogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF) codes, zero correlation zone (ZCZ) codes and OVSF codes with a ZCZ (OVSF-ZCZ codes). Our analysis results show that the BER performances of the multi-rate QS-CDMA system employing OVSF-ZCZ codes are superior to those of systems employing OVSF codes and ZCZ codes.
