Abstract
This paper deals with application of stochastic procedures for the analysis of partial discharge height distributions (PDHD) detected during the aging of insulation systems. Aging experiments were made considering an artificial flat cavity and a 23 kV epoxy-resin insulator. The influence of the aging process on PDHD is observed during long-term voltage application until breakdown of both objects. It is shown that the time evolution of parameters can be connected with aging phenomena. In particular, the variation of shape and scale parameters with aging time offers a key of lecture of the PD mechanism which seems quite useful for diagnosis inference of the insulation system
