Abstract
Climate change is now an accepted phenomenon that slowly and progressively affects our environment and our lives. It is highly accepted to invest in adaptation measures now itself than waiting for aggravated conditions. A research is being carried out to investigate the effects of climate change on drainage system of Sungat Muara of Brunei Darussalam. First investigation of trend of observed rainfall at Brunei International Airport showed significant increase of rainfall and rain duration combined with deceasing intensity. Cumulative effect of the observed rainfall changes is to increase the loading of the drainage system warranting further investigation of the adequacy of the drainage system. Changes of the rainfall duration may also affect the vegetation and output of agricultural products.
