Abstract :
The problems of short-arc initial orbit determination and nonlinear propagation of uncertainty region are considered in the context of searching in the next observation sessions of an Earth-orbiting object with a priori unknown orbit. To solve these problems a new algorithm is proposed based on piecewise-linear approximation of nonlinearities, and piecewise-Gaussian representation of posteriori density function.
