Abstract
The tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake brings about a large amount of marine debris. In order to derive the status of marine debris, space-borne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) can be expected due to its flexible operability to weather and time. In this paper, we discussed a method to derive the distribution of marine debris having a wide range of diversity, and then derived observation requirements for a long-term monitoring of marine debris by taking into account space-borne SAR characteristics.
