Abstract
In this paper, the viscous flow of a micropolar fluid in the vicinity of an axisymmetric stagnation point on a shrinking porous cylinder is investigated analytically using homotopy analysis method (HAM). The governing nonlinear partial differential equations are converted into a system of ordinary differential equations by introducing an appropriate similarity transformation. The serious solution is presented graphically and the recurrence formulae for finding the coefficients are given. The convergence of the obtained solution is discussed. The effects of various parameters in this problem are studied. The analytical approximation obtained by the homotopy analysis method agrees well with the numerical results.
