Abstract :
Xingshipo pumping station is the last stage pumping station of the Water Diversion Project from Yellow River to Jiaodong and it is the key of the project. The flow pattern in inlet structure of a pumping station influences greatly on the inflow condition of pumps and the operation status of the pump unit. In this paper, based on the RANS method, the standard k-ε turbulence model together with FVM method were used to simulate the 3-dimensional flow within the forebay, suction sump and suction pipe of Xingshipo pumping station operating under the design flow-rate. Two kinds of operating units combination plans are analyzed and flow distribution of forebay, suction sump and pump inlet is obtained. By comparison of the free surface velocity vector and flow field distribution, the better operating units combination plan is figured out. And this provides reference for engineering practice.
