Abstract
An energy-saving train operation is theoretically studied in this paper. Case studies for showing trade-off relationship between train running time and energy consumption are numerically calculated and compared for minimizing energy through optimal time allocations among multiple inter-station sections. Effects of payload on the optimized results are carefully discussed in the study.
