Abstract :
Dredging is essential for the maintenance and development of ports, harbors and waterways. As the developing of harbors and waterways in China, more and more dredged material is produced, and gradually considered as a nature resource. This paper focuses on introducing the management and utilization of enormous dredged material in deepwater channel regulation project of Yangtze Estuary during past decades, as well as the recent research achievements and the developing trend of beneficial use. Investigation and study imply that, the utilized ratio of dredged material is increasing steadily, and more methods will play an important role in reducing project costs and preventing environmental problems.
