Abstract :
A 16-channel, 100-GHz spacing dense wavelength-division multiplexer was fabricated using a cascaded all-fiber unbalanced Mach-Zehnder structure. This device demonstrates the lowest insertion loss (1.2 dB) reported to date and exquisite channel uniformity. By using a passive compensation technique, the center wavelength also exhibits a low temperature dependency (<2 pm//spl deg/C).
