Abstract :
This article describes the environmental condition, the test procedures and the test equipment of prevalent standards for airborne equipment. It concentrates on DO-160 which covers the standard procedures and environmental test criteria for the entire spectrum of aircraft - from helicopters to jumbo jets. At the end, a brief cost analysis for the different test levels is presented.
