Abstract :
The paper provides a summary report of the experience and problems in transmission system operation and interconnection prospects in the changing process of electricity industry in China. For the better utilization of the energy resources concentrated on remote areas the paper also describes the planning for regional interconnections countrywide around the year 2010 and some related problems are mentioned too. To meet the needs of higher reliability from consumers after restructuring of the electricity industry in China, a very important reliability criterion has been made to enhance the transmission reliability. Some of important system operation criteria, such as voltage control, reactive power compensation, frequency control, load following, under frequency loadshedding, and relay layout, are also mentioned. Some operational statistical results are presented to show the important roles played by the criteria
