Abstract :
THIS ´AFTER ALL´ COLUMN is the second in my ´Travels in the World of engineering´ mini-series (the first one - on my engineering, railway and other adventures in the north of france - was published in E&T´s november 2012 issue). Today I want to tell you about monaco, a bustling mini-state and one of the greenest urban spots in europe. In fact, monaco, the area of which is similar to that of hyde Park, is europe´s smallest independent state after Vatican. It is also the most densely populated country in the world. Since joining E&T, I have travelled to monaco nearly every year to attend one of the most important events on my editorial calendar - the annual cleanequity monaco conference, a unique international gathering and a child of Prince Albert of monaco, the country´s ruling monarch, on whose initiative it started to be held in 2008.
