Abstract :
In order to grow, modern technology companies must employ an acquisition strategy in order to offset the rapid pace and risks inherent in internal product development. The marine technology market offers a unique opportunity for acquisition oriented companies because of the fractious nature of the industry. The probability that an acquisition will meet its expectations resides in the acquirer´s ability to comprehend the complex issue associated with the change process and expeditiously address them. Excellent communication skills, an understanding of complex human resource problems, a willingness to change and strong leadership will greatly enhance the probability of acquisition success
