Abstract
Internet of Things is identified as one of the main pillars to next-generation Internet. Two technologies supporting this technological advancement are Radio Frequency Identification and Wireless Sensor Networks. They are used to automatically identify people, objects, and animals, as well as monitoring environmental parameters, and area monitoring. Thus, this article presents five areas of applications of these technologies in the Internet of Things context. Internet of Things is verified to go beyond the ubiquitous availability of computing infrastructure.
