Abstract
The paper presents the process and findings of Bield Housing and Care´s new strategic approach to asset performance management in its 152 sheltered housing and care housing developments. Bield Housing and Care (Bield) commissioned Docherty Consulting Ltd (DCL) to work with them to develop and implement a strategic asset performance evaluation process in order to evaluate the performance of their built assets in a way that reflects the nature and aims of their organisation and how the business operates. The project focused on the asset management needs specific to the provision of housing for older people in Scotland and in the context of the regulatory environment established by the Scottish Housing Regulator.
