Abstract :
At present there has been considerable interest in the production of the intense relativistic electron beams in foilless diode [1]. The given paper presents study of foilless diode performance in an uniform external magnetic field. There are considered axially symmetric systems only, the guide magnetic field being parallel to the axis of symmetry. Geometry of coaxial diode with an annular cathode is shown in Fig.1. Further we also shall consider the diode with cathode the end of which has a shape differing from that shown in the figure, it can be, in particular, a solid plane surface (here hc = Rc).
