Abstract
In general, lead acid batteries are prefered for telecommunication application, they attain complete recharged even at the float voltage of 2.23 V/cell. The charging process is more efficient and the voltage gap between charge and discharge is smaller compared to nickel/cadmium batteries. Several checks are discussed, which are employed to guarantee proper performance of the battery during service life.
