Abstract
The creation of reliable IP networks in a mobile tactical wireless environment requires efficient channel access and reliable RF data transmission. This paper shows how an automatic repeat request system with adaptive waveform selection can greatly increase the channel throughput over frequency shift keying with adaptive forward error correction. The difference can be as much as 4 times the throughput rate of current systems
