Abstract :
Improved production yields, better overall performance and increased reliability are the key goals and benefits of the Generic TWT Program. Two types of Generic TWTs (X- and K-band) for satellite communications were designed, analyzed, processed and tested to rigorous standards generated on the Generic Program. The features of the Generic TWTs are described along with TWT reliability, given in terms of structural, thermal and electrical margins of safety. Flight hardware is manufactured on a Monitored Production Line which was instrumental in improving the production yield on the X-band, 40 watt TWT.
