Abstract :
In this paper the authors present an analysis of the influence of different geometrical dimensions of the cross section of a permanent magnet synchronous motor to drive a bicycle on the size of its cogging torque. Thus are modified the stator slots isthmus width, the stator slots isthmus height, the stator teeth width (keeping slot pitch) and the width of the permanent magnet rotor (keeping the same mass of magnets and magnetic rotor yoke width). In order to achieve these objectives, is computed for each case, the inducer magnetic flux density of the motor by the 2D finite element method and the values of cogging torque in each of the considered cases.
