RFID based missing person identification system

It has become very common to read in the media about missing person viz., young kids, mentally challenged kids, and senior citizens. Presently through newspaper, TV, and police as well, attempts are being made to identify these missing persons. In this paper we present the hardware and test results of missing person identification system based on RFID technology, Arduino embedded system and Arduino IDE open source software. This RFID reading equipment may be maintained at all police stations and public gatherings in the future. This has applications for identifying missing children, physically challenged children, senior citizens and handing over to their guardians. The prerequisite is that the person has to physically put on the RFID tag.
