Abstract :
The ambiguity of range and velocity for vehicle radar is severe because of the velocity and ranges applicable and the presence of over 100 responses when wide angle radar sensors are used. Existing methods of interpretation reject low amplitude responses that can be from a close target of low radar cross section. This is potentially hazardous. We present initial work towards an approach that uses multiple constraints to reduce the level of ambiguity to a manageable level. This involves a novel consideration of the ambiguity function.
