Abstract :
This paper presents two wireless surface electromyography (sEMG) probes with four high-speed channels each. Compared to the portable sEMG probes available in the market, the presented wireless sEMG probes have: (a) higher transmission speeds, allowing higher sampling frequencies; (b) a higher number of sensing channels; and (c) a wide range of programmable gains, thus allowing the measurement of very weak sEMG signals down to 20 nV. Experimental results obtained from recording sEMG signals from both bicep and masseter muscles conveniently displayed on smartphones are reported.
