Abstract
Eleven human teeth cavities were partially Filled under pressure with a calcium hydroxide paste, using a special injector. Tetracyline labeling, prior extraction, was used to study the biological activity of odontoblasts. Undecalcified teeth were examined under light, UV and scanning electron microscopy, 76±22 days after injection. A complete reparative dentin bridge was observed in 12 of the 25 root-canals and a partial sealing was demonstrated in 9 root-canals. The remaining root-canals were either fully occluded, or necrotic, or no reactive. These results indicate that the technique used is reliable for partial or complete tooth devitalization.
