Abstract :
This paper proposes cuckoo search algorithm (CSA) for the generation scheduling in microgrids in an economical manner. CSA is an evolutionary algorithm to solve the multimodal optimization problems. A microgrid with several renewable and conventional generating units has been used as a case study and the results of the proposed method are compared with several well-known techniques. The sensitivity analysis is also carried out to tune the control parameter of the proposed method to reach the best optimal. The results confirm the high performance of the proposed method for the generation scheduling in microgrid.
