Abstract :
This paper presents a loosely coupled inductive power transfer (IPT) system for low power applications. Two separated coils form an inductive power transfer through an air gap due to the magnetic coupling. The primary circuit uses a Class E converter circuit to drive the non-linear load, which theoretically produces zero switching losses. In order to ensure the magnetic flux leakage is minimized, the use of secondary parallel capacitor compensation is important. So, this paper only covers the experimental results to validate the theory. In this work, the maximum output power can be obtained is 3.17W and slightly decrease when varying the air gap distance from 5mm to 45mm.
