Abstract :
Operation conditions of the III-V solar cells in the concentrator photovoltaic modules are characterized by nonuniform light intensity distribution on the cell surface. Such conditions have an influence on the temperature coefficients of concentrator cell parameters. This work presents the experimental results of study of the GaAs single-junction concentrator cell parameters behavior as a function of temperature and concentrated light intensity distribution. All measurements were carried out on solar cells used in the space concentrator modules based on point focus Fresnel lenses. It has been shown, that the nonuniform irradiance has an effect on the concentrator cell temperature coefficients, which have always been evaluated with allowance for the real light intensity distribution formed by a concentrator.
