Abstract :
A dual frequency electromagnetic bandgap based antenna is described fabricated on common clothing materials. Wet and dry performance was evaluated. The antenna operates over the wireless network bands at 2.45 Hz and 5 GHz. To reduce back radiation the antenna was placed over an electromagnetic band gap surface. Back radiation was reduced by 10 to 15 dB while maintaining the impedance match over the two frequency bands.
