Abstract
Reliability of power cable insulation is the key to the security of power system. In this paper, A comprehensive method for the diagnosis on insulation condition of distribution Cross Linked Polyethylene cable is presented, which including on-line and off-line Partial Discharge test and Very Low Frequency dielectric dissipation factor test. The Level in addition to the location of Partial Discharge and the assessment for condition of cable can be done by respectively using Partial Discharge and Very Low Frequency dielectric dissipation factor test. Experimental results have proved that this method is useful to assess the condition of Cross Linked Polyethylene cable.
