Abstract
Failure of equipment in transmission systems often causes significant cost due to replacement expenses and interruption losses. Several solutions have been proposed to identify and classify faults in order to improve the system reliability. This paper aims at investigating the frequency content of the current of transmission lines and introduce and evaluate the challenges that are likely to fail the diagnostic system. The paper also attempt to provide a framework to facilitate a reliable making in the real time situation.
